    How it works

    How to sell Litecoin

Selling Litecoin with Anytime Capital takes only a few minutes:

    1. Enter the amount of Litecoin you want to sell.
    2. Choose how you want to be paid — bank transfer, debit card, or one of the other payout methods.
    3. If your wallet has MWEB enabled, move the coins back to a regular Litecoin address first — most platforms, including this one, cannot accept an MWEB deposit.
    4. Send your LTC to the address shown, then complete verification if you have not already.
    5. Receive your money.

MWEB coins have to come out before you can sell

The MimbleWimble Extension Block, added to Litecoin in 2022, is an opt-in privacy layer where balances and amounts are hidden. It works well for what it does, and it is also the reason a lot of exchanges and payment providers refuse deposits from it — an incoming MWEB transaction does not expose the information their compliance systems are built to read. If your wallet shows an MWEB balance, peg it back out to a standard address before you start a sale. The move happens inside your own wallet and takes a few confirmations.

Three address formats, and which one to use

Litecoin has accumulated three address styles and all three still work, which is a common source of confusion when a wallet shows one shape and a payout screen shows another.

    • Legacy addresses beginning with L — the original format, still spendable
    • P2SH addresses beginning with M — introduced with SegWit; older addresses beginning with 3 are the same format and were deprecated because they collide with Bitcoin's
    • Bech32 addresses beginning with ltc1 — the current default, cheapest to spend from

Faster blocks, and what that changes in practice

Litecoin targets a block every two and a half minutes against Bitcoin's ten, using the Scrypt hashing algorithm rather than SHA-256. In practice that means a sale confirms in a fraction of the time and costs a fraction of the fee — typically cents rather than dollars. Litecoin has also been merge-mined with Dogecoin since 2014, so the two networks share hashpower, which is a meaningful part of why a chain this old remains secure.

Supply, halvings and the reason LTC gets sold

Litecoin's supply caps at 84 million, four times Bitcoin's, and the block reward halves roughly every four years — the most recent in August 2023, with the next due around 2027. It is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies still in continuous use and has kept a role as a cheap, fast settlement asset rather than a speculative one. That shows up in why people sell it: LTC is frequently used to move value between platforms and converted at the end, rather than held for years.

How long does it take to send LTC to us?

Litecoin settles on Litecoin, where a transfer typically confirms in 5–30 minutes. Litecoin blocks arrive every 2.5 minutes — four times Bitcoin's cadence — and most platforms credit deposits after 2–6 confirmations, so 5–30 minutes is the normal range. Fees have stayed at a few cents per transaction for years, making LTC a workhorse for plain value transfers. We start your payout once the transfer has confirmed on-chain, so this is the part of a sale you are usually waiting on.

What does it cost to send LTC?

That is a Litecoin network fee, paid to the network rather than to us: Typically $0.01–$0.05 per transaction through 2025–2026 — consistently among the cheapest Proof of Work transfers. See /fees-and-limits for what Anytime Capital charges.

What do LTC addresses look like?

Legacy: Starts with L. Original format, universally supported Check the first and last characters against the address on the payout screen before you send — a Litecoin transfer cannot be reversed once it is confirmed.
