The Beacon Chain is gone, and old addresses with it

BNB originally lived on two chains: the BNB Beacon Chain, whose addresses began with bnb1 and which used memos for exchange deposits, and BNB Smart Chain, which is EVM-compatible and uses 0x addresses. The Beacon Chain was sunset in 2024 and its functions folded into BNB Smart Chain. If you are working from an old guide, an old bookmark or a wallet that has not been opened in years, you may still see bnb1 addresses and memo fields — they are no longer the route. Send BEP-20 BNB on BNB Smart Chain to the 0x address on the payout screen, and no memo is needed.

BNB pays for gas, so do not sell every last one

On BNB Smart Chain, transaction fees are paid in BNB. Empty the wallet entirely and anything else in it — BEP-20 tokens, an LP position, a staked balance — becomes unmovable until you fund the address again. Fees on the chain are typically a cent or two, so keeping a fraction of a BNB back is enough. It is the same trap as ETH on Ethereum and it catches people just as often.

The supply shrinks on a schedule

BNB has a deflationary design: a quarterly auto-burn removes tokens from circulation based on a formula tied to the chain's block production and BNB's price, running until the total supply reaches 100 million. A portion of gas fees is burned continuously on top of that. Whether this supports the price is an argument, but the mechanism is real and public, and it is the reason circulating supply figures for BNB fall over time rather than rise.

What BNB is used for beyond fees

BNB began in 2017 as an exchange token offering trading fee discounts, and that remains part of the demand. Since then it has become the gas asset for one of the most-used EVM chains, the staking asset securing it, and the fee token for opBNB, the layer 2 built on top. Those roles mean a large share of BNB sits in contracts and validator stakes rather than in wallets — worth knowing if you hold BNB somewhere other than a plain wallet, because getting it out is a step you have to complete before selling.

How long does it take to send BNB to us?

BNB settles on BNB Smart Chain, where a transfer typically confirms in under 2 minutes. BNB Smart Chain cut its block time twice in 2025 — to 1.5 seconds in April and 0.75 seconds in June — so transactions confirm nearly instantly. Exchanges typically credit BEP-20 deposits in under two minutes. We start your payout once the transfer has confirmed on-chain, so this is the part of a sale you are usually waiting on.

What does it cost to send BNB?

That is a BNB Smart Chain network fee, paid to the network rather than to us: Typically $0.01–$0.05 per transfer in 2025–2026 after the block-time upgrades and gas-price reductions. See /fees-and-limits for what Anytime Capital charges.

What do BNB addresses look like?

Standard address: 0x + 40 hex characters. Same format as Ethereum; 'BEP-20' on a withdrawal screen means this network Check the first and last characters against the address on the payout screen before you send — a BNB Smart Chain transfer cannot be reversed once it is confirmed.
